The AAC groups were 10 shots each. Each shot was made with 1 second and one breath between shots. This was done 5rds at a time, with a reload inbetween. The first group is the control with 62gr xtac green tip M855. The second group is AAC 75gr Sabre Black Tip, the 3rd group is AAC 77gr OTM. The OTM shot the tightest grouping Sub 1/2MOA.Home Defense: 55gr Speer Gold Dot. Long range: Federal Gold Medal Match or Black Hills 77gr OTM. Both utilize the 77gr SMK. Deer hunting. 70gr Barnes TSX. Black hills 5.56 77gr TMK is the best possible load you can use if barriers aren't an issue. If they are, then 62gr fusion, 62gr TBBC or 50gr TSX are your best bet.

Also 22.0 Benchmark and 77 SMK or 69 SMK come in a close 2nd. Will try loads with Blc(2) this weekend. Sorry I dont have anything shorter with enough twist for 77 SMK.The IMI is the best groupings and my opinion is it's related to the std deviation and extreme spreads. It's a very consistent load vs the other 2 AAC ammo. Wolf M193 - Avg 3.394. IMI “Razor Core” 77 Grain OTM, LR, Mod 1. This load is topped with a 77 grain OTM bullet with a cannelure. The case mouth is sealed and the primers are crimped and sealed. When chronographed from the 20” Colt barrel, the load had a muzzle velocity of 2866 FPS with a standard deviation of 21 FPS.

The 77otm (non SMK) seemed too good to be true so I didn't even try it. The actual 77gr SMK AAC shot just slightly worse out of my gun than the 75gr ... I've had good success with the 77gr OTM. Shot a 20 shot group that was 1.3 MOA while still breaking in my 20" Kreiger with a 1-8 Trijicon Credo. AAC 77Gr OTM is the TRUTH. So I recently built an 18” SPR as my first ever AR. BCM upper w/ 410 stainless (1/8 twist) and a PA GLX 1-6 FFP. Kinda budget, but what I considered a solid entry point for predator hunting. The AAC 69gr shot around 1.5 MOA out of my 14.5” URGI but it didn’t like the AAC 75gr BTHP as much (~2 MOA). It grouped very similar to the AAC 75gr and AAC 77gr SMK. I am more than happy with 1.00 MOA-1.25 MOA at $.55/rnd and I was there and below today. I got 1.5 out of my 18” white oak but the criterion was 2+ consistently. For reference, that white oak barrel shoots 55g lake city just as well as the AAC 77g OTM. For 77s, IMO, the OTM was underperforming.
