The Lost Sector was designated to drop Helmets. We just got lucky like you. You can run them in a fireteam but exotics only drop on solo clears. You can get exotics, but they will not be that days slot specific nor does it have bad luck protection. To get slot specific and get guaranteed new items you have to run solo. I usually wait till next rotation to pick up a specific exotic if I don't get it with approx., 10 clears. Can confirm can get more than 1 character. Did my Warlock and then Titan and able to get a helm for each in about 90 minutes of farming. RNG can just take awhile some times. I get around 1 per 5 runs.Not a single exotic chest piece.
