The King Cobra was a strong revolvers, but the action isn't anything to write home about. As an offshoot of Colt's old "D-Frame," the King Cobra is a small-framed gun with big-gun aspirations. If you have huge hands, you will find it to be small, but especially for the KC target it feels substantial without being overkill for smaller-handed people. The Python, conversely, is bigger than it has to be.

I bought a King Cobra in 1989 or 90 and had to bring it back for warranty repair after shooting 12 rounds through it. Dumped it shortly afterwards and bought a Ruger GP100. I bought two new Pythons last month. One is awesome (4.25") and the other (3") is with Colt now for repair after it broke down, after about 50 rounds.
