It could be acceleration related but its not during heavy acceleration. It does happens when speed increasing. Its not a normal engine noise. Dealer said it may be battery cooling fan under rear seat. It occurs after short periods of driving (not long dealer said could cause) so not sure that's a possibility.Since it increases with steering input I would suggest you check the power steering fluid level. The pump will whine if low on fluid. If it is low top it off and find out where it is leaking.
