The center position on the fuel valve should be off. I presume it is leaking fuel from the carburetor. These have a removable float valve at the top of the carburetor, see the parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com. That valve is likely dirty or worn. A replacement valve is around $15 at a dealer. 2008 KFX 450R problems. How are you to check the oil level. The book that I got tells me to stand it on it's back bumper and check the oil level in the sight glass. The problem is all the oil came out the engine breather and pluged the filter. It lost like 1/2 a liter/quart or more.

The needle seat has a small screen and it was plugged only letting a small amout of fuel into the bowl. Most of the jets were clear but I still used music wire and air to clear any blockages.

Even with your new battery, like said above, I'd try a jump start from another 12 volt---Double check the voltage in the new battery---Check coil wires for tight/secure---If jump doesn't do it---Then try and spray a little starting fluid into the carbs and see if it tries to start.First start by removing the left side black plastic running boards. Then remove the kick starter bolt, and pull off the kick starter. Next remove these 8 bolts that hold the clutch cover in place. Set the cover to the side.
