The paperwork indicates a direct sale to a service member in 1946. No DCM at that time. The reference of "paso" along with the APO and reference to a Pacific Army Regulation, to me says this transfer occurred in the Philippines. I purchased a Universal M1 off of an auction last year. It must have been stored upside down in a basement. The first 10 inches of the barrel was rusted so bad nothing could be saved. I need a front sight for it, I've searched and searched and can't find one. It uses a set screw to attach it.
