It may actually be related to the player's name. We've seen some cases where the name is triggering some kind of filter, so it doesn't allow that player to be used. EA knows about this issue and has released a patch for it but it appears to have done nothing. Ive actually found a workaround for this issue, you need to use "manage saves" instead of using the "continue" option. Then you can go to your position of choice and load it manually and that stupid position change issue shouldnt occur.

Every year there’s a new glitch. The only reason this game is still alive is that EA has the exclusive license to the NFL. If there were competition, these “bugs” would not exist.
