The C6 Z06 shifter does not have short throws like an aftermarket shifter. It's in between stock and aftermarket, as far as throws (a little closer to stock), but it's very smooth and quiet. All of the factory shifters are vague, and long throw, so if you're willing to put up with high resistance, I recommend the MGW. To me I didn't like the high stiffness with my MGW.
