I find it odd that a Lv3 wooden wall is 250 hp but a wooden window with a metal sheet on each side is 10,000 HP! (assuming they haven't been broken yet so you can close them to make less noise inside) Or do you prefer to just cover them in curtains so that if your home ever is invaded en masse you have as many escape routes as possible?Make sure that if you have a box of nails that you select "unpack" and break it into 100 individual nails before trying to barricade. Alternatively, climbing up and then down a sheet rope again (or into and out of a car) fixed the problem for me. Try moving around a bunch and right clicking from different positons. Sometimes the right click menu is whack. Try barricade the same window but from the outside/inside (whichever you weren't doing) Had this issue today. Probably a mod causing it, but it seems to only be affecting a ball-point hammer for me.You'll need lots of wood, and some decent carpentry skill. At least enough to make basic walls. It doesn't matter what you make the walls out of, it can be wood or metal. It doesn't even matter what level the wall is.
