The ONT is like a modem (converts the fiber signal to a RJ45 port output), I'm guessing you got the Fidium supplied Adtran router? You can use your own equipment, just replace their modem with yours. You just have to either clone the MAC address of the Adtran to your new router or call and give the MAC address of your new router to Fidium.

Called Fidium and the technician said there were no outages in my area and he could not see my ONT and would submit a ticket. 2gig service using my own Orbi 960 Router (Mac address registered at time of installation) Central Maine location.The ONT and router fortunately are both operational; my best guess is that they ended up reprovisioning the 10G port on the ONT so that it would pass data.
