I've caught a number of yellowfin (40 lb. class on the 7500SS). First run is impressive, but usually only around 100 yards. Trolling speed is everything. There's a big difference in lure depth between 2.5 and 3.5 MPH. This difference is amplified by using heavier rigs. 3. You have to put out more line on the boat rods than the board rods to get the same depth. Leave the min that bag but put that bag inside of a qt. Zip Loc freezer bag. Take the qt. freezer bag and put it inside of a brown paper lunch bag, the heavy type is the best. BUDC. Been 90 miles out of Rudee in a 24 Albe and ~ 60 in a 23 Sea Craft. I've seen 20-21' 60miles out. Pick your days, Buddy Boat, pray a little. Personally, I don't so much enjoy being so far out in small boats -- just pushing the odds a little to far and its not really necessary for eating fish.
