Toyota rav4 not starting no crank.

Mar 7, 2019 · ..... Ever since the Rav4 randomly wont start. Today it would crank, start to run then shut off and in the past couple weeks would just occasionally not start. Today even with a jump pack attached it would shut off after running for a few seconds. My 2018 Rav4 Limited has been sitting for a week since I haven't been able to drive since cataract surgery. Today when I went to start it all lights, radio and cameras work but the engine makes a buzzing noise and won't start. The dash reads "AWD malfunction, 2WD mode engaged" HELP !!!2014 Camry SE 2.5L without pushbutton smart key, totally stock, original. Car does not crank, if I jump the starter solenoid it starts. 15 amp starter fuse is good. Checking starter relay pins: #85 has continuity to ground. #86 has power with key in crank position. #87 has continuity to starter solenoid.

The next morning, no start, no crank. Sometimes the dash lights come on when I turn the key and sometimes only one or two lights come on when I rotate the key to On. I was very surprised to find it wouldn't start up. It was running great except for those 2 strange occurrences the night (it was dark) before. First the Tachometer needle jumped ........1. Only four months old. Measures good. Cranks over at full speed without slowing at all. (No, don't make a habit of cranking it for more than 3 seconds and I do let starter cool between tries.) 2. Starts the car for a week at a time in two seconds or less of cranking. Only doesn't start once or twice a week.

The ignition switch up to the relay is good. Jump the two big terminals for the relay, if it turns over, the relay is bad. Otherwise, wiring from relay to starter or starter itself is bad. UPDATE: I ended up having the vehicle towed to Toyota. The battery, alternator, starter, start relay, ignition and all fuses or relays are all fine and work. When I turn the key all the electronics work but it doesn't crank or even make a sound.
