I have done the gas cap thing (tightening it, etc.) and even purchased a code reader. The cause is that the car does an automatic self-test 5 hours after engine shut-down, an air pump tests whether or not there's a leak in the fuel system and if it doesn't pass the test then the check engine light turns on at the next ignition. I noticed a bit of hesitation the last couple of days and, on the way home, the Check Engine and VDC lights came on and the cruise control indicator was flashing. Here we go again.
1) Tighten the gas cap. 2) Disconnect negative wire of the battery, leave it for 10 minutes. 3) Reconnect the battery, this should reset the CEL. 4) There will be a beeping noise, use the keyless entry to turn off the beeping noise by pressing door unlock. 5) Run around for a while to see if CEL comes back, if yes,
