My Stellaris game keeps crashing and I have no idea why. So basically I downloaded astral planes and played an empire. I run across some fanatic purifiers but some marauders are between me and them so I breathe a sigh of relief and move on. Rerolling to a previous save, even if it was 5-10 years before the crash date, will still cause the game to crash on that specific date. The date changes between different playthroughs though. The changes in 2.2 made the game more memory and calculation intensive, which has caused problems in the later game - I've had these problems too.
