bumtarder. There is a vacuum line that is supposed to go from the nipple on the petcock to the port nipple on the cylinder head where you have it capped off. This allows engine vacuum to operate the petcock. The petcock is normally left to "on" or "res" during normal operation. The stock petcock is automatic.The WR starts one push of the button no matter what temp, elevation, or if it’s been dropped, whereas I had a lot of carb trouble with my old DRZ in the 3 years I’ve owned it. The Lectron carb (and SmartCarb) use a single needle that covers the standard pilot, needle and main jet circuits. The slight advantage of a single circuit carb like the Lectron is the tendency to transition smoother off of the pilot circuit. Yes, it is a definite upgrade from a stock carb, both in top performance due to a larger, less restrictive bore (stock BSR CV is a 36mm, the Lectron can be a 39) and the Lectron is a flat slide carb. So even at full throttle, the BSR still has a butterfly in the intake path that further restricts top end.*Note* DRZ400E models with OEM equipped Kehin FCR carbs will need airboot and spigot boots from a CV carb equipped DRZ. Posted October 3, 2017. I recently purchased a new 4T lectron Carb for my spare DRZ400SM. First off it took weeks to get as they were waiting or their new, must have billet throttle tubes. Finally got the carb, looked awesome, install was very easy. It fit better than the OEM carb and we wont even compare fit to an FCR.

The FCR carb will gladly provide 60mpg during easy highway cruising (50-60mph). Unloaded, WOT on the highway, I get 35mpg. Fully loaded with camping gear, WOT on the highway, I’ve gotten as low as 25mpg. The stock carb will jerk and cough when whacking the throttle open at high rpms. The throttle response just doesn’t compare to the FCR.

lectron has actually been selling the H's for sometime now as HV's less the updated slide and lighter spring. Some people have H's and don't even know it. Basically if you were planning on getting a Hv now it's an H, same price and claims of it performing better.
