Was given a 77 Gamefisher 15hp Model217-58632-0.<br />Trying to put it in water this weekend and need to make sure oil/gas ratio is correct. No manual.<br />Any ideas/recs are appreciated. I checked the compression, it's got 109/110 psi, but no spark on the lower cylinder. There is a nut and rod (pinion?) attached above the flywheel which the starter fits over. The thing pulled a 14' fiberglass skiff with two onboard at a good clip, (I'd guess about 18 mph or so with two big guys onboard). For $175 it ran well enough to convince me to buy it.

I am learning repair as I go and worked with my Dad to try to diagnose this issue. We disassembled the lower unit and didn't find anything glaringly wrong with the water pump or impeller but it still won't autoprime.May 18, 2009. #3. Re: 15 hp gamefisher lower unit. It turned out to be a shift linkage problem. The linkage connection bolt wasn't tight so when I would shift in forward it would slip. Same with reverse, and that's why It would either freeze in forward, or neutral and wouldn't shift out of it. Re: 15 hp gamefisher fuel pump? On those Eska-based 15hp outboards, the fuel pump is a red rubberish bladder that fits into the carburetor on the flange of the carb. Some parts are expensive so ebay might be your best bet. I just bought a 1993 for $200. $300 is the max I would pay for that motor and the cheaper the better.
