Hi, I am a M3 soon to be M4 needing to make a career decision very soon and am quite lost. Was 95% set on Rad Onc for most of med school and made myself competitive for it (260+ step 1, ~10 publications by the time I submit ERAS) but considering the dismal/worsening job market I am very unsure of the field.New drugs not as exciting as in oncology. Onc: less hands on/more cerebral. Much more meaningful relationships with your patients, most of which will be seeing you for the biggest/most difficult event of their lives. Depending on what area of Onc may have a lot of sad cases. What are the upsides and downsides of each field. I am not interested in interventional cards so it would essentially be noninterventional cards vs heme onc.
