They do this at the beginning of every wipe just so their dont wipe the floor with the low levels with level 2 armor, and also to try and combat the super experienced players from farming them very early on "say that this is one of your first wipes without saying this is one of your first wipes"
Possibly, events messing with the economy usually lead to a wipe. But just like last wipe, noone knows when. There might be a huge delay again, who knows? Obviously, 6 month and wipe to let a portion of the playerbase that left comeback to the game with an update + game discount so cheaters come in bulk. Easy money for Nikita.
